Building a Multi-Year Movement for Atlanta’s Westside
Atlanta’s Westside neighborhoods are rich with history and hope. Once a fixture of the civil rights movement, over time these neighborhoods have fallen prey to disinvestment, poverty, and crime. When a group of Atlanta business leaders including Chick-fil-A CEO, Dan Cathy, and Home Depot Co-founder, Arthur Blank, experienced firsthand the state of the Westside, they were compelled to act.
Creative & Production Ownership, End-to-End
Across every year, Brand Apart has served as the curator and creative engine for the Beloved Benefit—guiding the vision, story, and execution across all disciplines:
- Brand identity & visual systems
- Marketing, communications & content development
- Experience design & environmental design
- Scenic design, fabrication & installation
- Stage production, show direction & writing
- Choreography, talent programming & creative storytelling
- On-site, broadcast, and audience experience
Every detail—from color and texture to message and movement—is crafted to reflect the humanity and heart of the Beloved Community.
A Stage for Extraordinary Voices
Each year, we’ve helped shape a program that weaves community voices with world-class talent. The Beloved Benefit stage has welcomed performances and appearances from Bruno Mars, Usher, Maroon 5, John Legend, Chris Tucker, Maria Taylor, Ludacris, T.I., CeeLo Green, Emeli Sandé, Alexa Meade, and many others—each integrated with intentionality and a story-driven arc.
Crafting the Culture of the Beloved Community
From collaborating with local creators and makers to commissioning immersive art installations to reimagining communal dining with long-table style seating, we’ve infused the experience with the textures and perspectives of the Westside.
What began as the bold vision of a single event is now a multi-year movement—one that continues to bring Atlantans together across economic, racial, and societal lines.
Through every chapter of its evolution, Brand Apart has been the creative steward of the Beloved Benefit—helping shape a signature Atlanta tradition rooted in purpose, community, and belonging.
Brand Apart visualized, and produced an event, which theatrically and musically showcased Dr. King's vision of a community that comes together to support one another - the Beloved Community - with an excellence we have come to expect from Brand Apart.
